TDepartment of Horticulture has been established in Faculty of Agriculture Science & Technology, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University during 2025.
The department of Horticulture is catering the needs of the farmers by transferring the technologies developed in Horticulture Crops, conducting intensive research on crop improvement and Crop Management aspects in different horticultural crops.
The mandate of the department is to impart knowledge to the undergraduate and post graduate students on Horticulture, to develop high yielding varieties and technologies for horticultural crops and to disseminate the findings to the extension functionaries and farmers.
The department offers master’s program leading to M.Sc. (Ag.) in Horticulture which was initiated in 2025. The Annual intake of students is thirty for which admission procedure is conducted in July based on merit of UG and reservation is applicable as per Govt. of Uttar Pradesh.
The department is currently staffed with one professor and two Assistant professors to facilitate academics and research activities.
The department is committed to providing quality education, practical training, and research opportunities to students, while also contributing to the development of sustainable agriculture through extension activities.
