It may be noted that the university has been named after the great social reformer, thinker, philosopher and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule who played a leading role in the field of education. The society is still unfamiliar with the contribution made by Mahatma Jyotiba Phule in the educational and social development of the nation. There seemed to be a need for the literature of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and other great men related to him to promote awareness and research work widely in the society. Keeping this objective in mind, the University has established Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Research and Study Centre in the Central Library. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Shodhpeeth was approved in July 2023 by the executive council of university under the inspiration of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh.
