Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Chair at mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University Bareilly was approved in July 2023 by the Executive Council ofUniversity under the inspiration of Honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh. Presently,
Dr. Ambedkar chair is functioning in the Central Library of the University which is continuously working to improve and uplift the thinking of the students through the lens of social justice and constitutional spirit.
The vision of the Dr. Ambedkar chair at MJPRU is to be the premier centre for advanced learning and research on Dr. Ambedkar's Philosophy.
Its purpose is to advance knowledge on the issues of social Justice and the empowerment of marginalized Communities in line with Dr. Ambedkar’s vision and mission.
Key Programs and activities of the Ambedkar Chair included the various research activities like seminar, workshops and expert lectures, and publication of proceedings of such program etc.
Ambedkar Chair also organised the Nation building programme showcasing the perspective of Ideas of B.R. Ambedkar and Celebration Programme of Ambedkar Jayanti & his Punyatithi.
