National Webinar on Higher Education Teachers' roles and responsibilities in view of NEP 2020 (02 July, 2021)


Teachers' Reskilling Cell of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University. Bareilly organized an exclusive one-day National webinar on Higher education Teachers' roles and responsibilities in view of NEP 2020 on 02nd July, 2021. The session was presided by Hon'ble Prof. K.P. Singh, Vice Chancellor, M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly and Chief Speaker Prof. Mohammad Miyan, Ex-Vice Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University; Hyderabad explained the new perspectives of NEP 2020 and expectations of higher education from its teachers. He further clarified that the responsibility of teachers in present scenario is not restricted to teaching in classrooms only but the main role of teachers should be the holistic development of their students. National Education Policy cannot be implemented without active participation of teachers. Prof. Nalini Srivastava, Coordinator Teachers' Reskilling Cell and Organizing Secretary of the program highlighted the aims and objectives along with the functioning of Teachers' Reskilling Cell. Dr. Tarun Rashtriya, Associate Professor, Faculty of Education and Allied Science elaborated the fundamental accountability of responsible teachers. Prof. Santosh Arora discussed the importance of teacher as explained in NEP2020 and concluded the program by giving vote of thanks. More than 160 students attended the Program with full enthusiasm. The webinar was proved to be informative and appreciated by the participants.



National Webinar on NEP 2020: Skill Development in Higher Education (05 October, 2021)


Teachers' Reskilling Cell of M.JP Rohilkhand University organized a national webinar on skill development in higher education, in the context of National Education Policy 2020 under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Professor K.P. Singh. The keynote speaker of the program P.S.S.C.I.V.E, NCERT Professor VS Mahrotra highlighted the possibilities of skill development in higher education, a new perspective of the National Education Policy. He explained how employment opportunities can be created in higher education through vocational education. Simultaneously, he also discussed the future strategies for skill development in higher education institutions. He said that keeping in view today's time, professional development of teachers is very important.

In the program, Professor Nalini Srivastava, Coordinator of teachers' Reskilling Cell highlighted the need of skill development in higher education. She said that skill based courses should be integrated with all higher education institutions. She told that according to the National Education Policy 2020, by 2025 50% of the learners of higher education should be made aware of the courses related to skill development and their active participation should be ensured. The program was conducted by Dr. Kirti Prajapati Assistant Professor of Education Department. She placed the questions asked by the participants in front of the chief guest, which the keynote speaker answered in avery simple manner and cleared the doubts of the participants. Professor Santosh Arora said that teachers will have to make continuous efforts for skill development and this type of programs will be organized in future also. In the end, she thanked the keynote speaker, coordinator of the program, all the teachers and participants for making the webinar successful. On this occasion, Dr. Tarun Rashtriya, Dr. Meenakshi Dwivedi and other teachers of the Education Department were also present. More than 160 participants participated in this program.
