Roles of the Anti-Ragging Cell

Responsibilities of the Anti-Ragging Cell
Collection of Undertakings
Ensure that every student and their parent/guardian submit a duly signed Anti-Ragging Undertaking at the time of admission, as mandated by UGC regulations.

Hostel-Specific Undertakings
Require students who are allotted hostel accommodation to submit a separate Anti-Ragging Undertaking at the time of hostel allotment, affirming their commitment to maintain a ragging-free environment within residential premises.

Monitoring Compliance
Regularly monitor the submission and proper documentation of all anti-ragging undertakings through coordination with admission and hostel authorities.
Awareness and Orientation
Conduct awareness programs, orientation sessions, and campaigns for students, faculty, and staff to promote a zero-tolerance attitude toward ragging.
Preventive Measures
Identify vulnerable locations and time periods prone to ragging incidents and implement preventive strategies, including increased vigilance and surprise checks.
Support Mechanism
Provide a safe and confidential mechanism for reporting incidents of ragging, ensuring that victims are protected and supported throughout the process.
Enquiry and Action
Promptly investigate all reported cases of ragging in coordination with the Proctorial Board and recommend disciplinary actions in accordance with University and UGC guidelines.
Coordination with Authorities
Liaise with hostel wardens, department heads, and local law enforcement agencies whenever necessary to address complaints and prevent ragging-related incidents.
Record Keeping and Reporting
Maintain updated records of all undertakings, reported cases, and actions taken. Submit periodic reports to the university administration and regulatory bodies as required.
Compliance with Regulations
Ensure full implementation of UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations, Supreme Court directives, and State Government instructions to uphold a ragging-free academic environment.
