About The Department of Electrical Engineering



The Department of Electrical Engineering was started in 1996 after the approval of AICTE and with an intake of 60 students per year. So far 20 batches have passed out. Many of them are well placed in reputed PSUs, Electricity Boards, Delhi Metro, TCS, WIPRO and other national and multinational companies. The department has one of the biggest buildings on the campus. Its 04 lecture halls have area of 160 sq. metres and seating capacities of 130 students each. These are the biggest lecture halls of the University. There are total 05 lecture halls and two smart classes.

There are six rooms for laboratories, in which 13 academic laboratories have been established. There are total 14 offices for Head, faculty and staff. There are sufficient wash rooms for male and female staff and students. It has RO and water cooler for potable water supply. University has provided 1000 Mbps switch.

Recently AIRTEL internet connection of 100 Mbps has been installed. From 2020, 06 additional seats have been added in first year under EWS. In second year, 06 students are admitted under Lateral entry scheme. There are 08 permanent faculty members-two of which are on QIP leave for pursuing Ph.D. at MNNIT Prayagraj. Third faculty will join Jamia Mila Delhi for Ph.D. There are two permanent technicians, two technicians through outsourcing agency and three attendants through outsourcing agency. Front area of the building is lush green with a lot of trees; and Mayur Pankhi trees for beautification of the landscape around the building.
